Our Asphalt Plant in Vero Beach: Hours, Pickup and Directions

The Engineered Asphalt Materials asphalt plant in Vero Beach is at 500 2nd St SW, Vero Beach, FL 32962. Plant pickup runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, on a first come, first served basis, with weekend and after-hours loading by request.

Below is what dispatchers and drivers should know before sending a truck: how to schedule, what happens at the scale, and the safety rules on site.

Plant address and hours

Hours can vary with the production schedule and project demand, so contact the plant to confirm daily availability, especially early in the morning or late in the day.

Getting to the plant

The plant sits in Vero Beach in Indian River County, central to the four counties we serve. That location keeps haul times reasonable for crews working north into Sebastian, Fellsmere, Melbourne and Palm Bay, and south into Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie and Stuart.

Put 500 2nd St SW, Vero Beach, FL 32962 into your navigation app. If a driver is new to the site, have them call (772) 494-6077 before arrival and the team will help with the approach and where to line up.

How to schedule a pickup

Placing your order ahead of time is the single best way to avoid waiting. It lets us schedule production so your mix is hot and ready when the truck pulls in.

  1. Call or text the plant with the mix you need, the tonnage and the day.
  2. Confirm the pickup window and how many trucks you are sending.
  3. Tell us about the job if you are unsure of the mix. Our team can recommend the right type and grade.
  4. Send your trucks. They are loaded in order of arrival within the schedule.

Lead time depends on the mix and our current production schedule. Specialty and polymer-modified mixes may need more notice than a standard surface mix, so call as early as you can. Minimums also vary by mix type, and the plant will tell you what applies when you order.

At the scale and loadout

Our Gencor plant is built for consistent batching and quick loading. Trucks are weighed over FDOT Certified scales, so the ticket reflects exactly what each truck is carrying. That matters for your job costing and for any agency work where tonnage is documented.

If you want a quick check on how much mix to order before you call, use the asphalt tonnage calculator. It estimates tons from length, width and thickness using a standard compacted density you can adjust for your mix.

Plant safety requirements

All drivers and visitors must follow plant safety rules at all times while on site. Please brief your drivers before their first trip:

A loaded plant yard has moving loaders, hot material and trucks backing in. Following the lanes and the loader operator's signals keeps everyone safe and keeps the line moving.

What you can pick up

The plant produces hot mix asphalt, Superpave gradations including SP-9.5, SP-12.5 and SP-19, polymer-modified mixes, base mix, specialty mixes such as open-graded friction course, and RAP-blended mixes. Exact availability is confirmed per project. See the products page for the lineup and call to confirm what is running on your pickup day.

No trucks of your own?

Delivery can be arranged through local trucking partners. If you need a hauler, ask when you call and we can connect you with one. This is common for smaller jobs and for owners and managers who do not keep dump trucks.
