Engineered Asphalt Materials (EAM) is a new, state-of-the-art asphalt production company in Vero Beach, Florida. From a Gencor-equipped plant at 500 2nd St SW, EAM supplies precision-engineered hot mix to contractors, developers and municipalities across Indian River, Brevard, St. Lucie and Martin counties.
Why Vero Beach
EAM was built to make asphalt close to where it is used. A central Vero Beach location means contractors are not hauling mix in from distant counties or waiting in line at congested suppliers. Shorter hauls keep delivery times down and production reliable, and they keep mix hotter on the way to the paver.
The company is proud to produce an essential building material right here, supporting local jobs, local contractors and local infrastructure. As Indian River County keeps growing, EAM is here to supply the asphalt that keeps roads safe and developments moving.
Our mission
EAM's mission is to supply Indian River County with consistent, durable and environmentally responsible asphalt, backed by fast turnaround and dependable service.
The plant
The plant runs on Gencor equipment, which is trusted across the industry for heat efficiency, clean-burning operation and precise mix accuracy. In practice, that means:
- Stable temperature control, so mix leaves the plant ready to place and compact
- Consistent batching, so one load matches the next
- Quick loadout, so trucks get back on the road without delays
- FDOT Certified scales, so every ticket reflects exactly what the truck is carrying
The facility includes aggregate stockpiles, silos and loadout, hot mix and material storage, and a plant access road.
Quality control on site
Quality control happens at the plant. Every mix is monitored and tested on site so what leaves the facility matches the project specification it was made for. The program covers sampling and testing during production, monitoring temperatures and consistency from batch to batch, checks against each project's required specifications, and documentation for contractor, developer and municipal requirements. Handling this in-house lets the team catch and correct issues before material reaches a crew.

How ordering works
Ordering is simple. Call or text the plant to confirm your mix and pickup window, then pick up at the plant Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, first come, first served. Weekend and after-hours pickup is available by request. Ordering ahead helps the plant schedule production so your mix is hot and ready when your trucks arrive.
Built for Florida conditions
Treasure Coast pavement deals with intense heat, heavy rain and seasonal traffic surges. EAM produces every load with strict quality controls and calibrated testing, focused on repeatable performance so pavement stays smooth and durable. For high-stress areas, the PG 76-22 polymer-modified binder is designed to stay stable at high pavement temperatures and resist rutting.
