If you need a hot mix asphalt supplier close to your Treasure Coast jobs, Engineered Asphalt Materials (EAM) runs a Gencor-equipped plant at 500 2nd St SW in Vero Beach. We produce HMA, Superpave mixes, polymer-modified mixes and RAP blends, and we load contractor trucks Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
This page covers what we make, who we supply, how pickup works and how to get a mix recommended for your project.
Why a local supplier matters for hot mix
Hot mix asphalt is a time and temperature product. The longer a load sits in a truck bed, the more heat it loses, and cold mix at the paver means poor density and a short pavement life. A plant close to the work keeps haul times down and gives your crew more working time on every load.
Our Vero Beach location sits in the middle of the area we serve. Contractors working in Indian River County, southern Brevard, St. Lucie and Martin counties can plan shorter runs instead of hauling from far counties or waiting behind long lines at a congested yard.
- Shorter hauls: mix arrives at the job closer to plant temperature.
- Tighter scheduling: local production makes it easier to line up trucks with your paving crew.
- Direct contact: you talk to the plant team that is producing your mix.
What we produce
We make a full range of asphalt materials for roads, commercial sites and infrastructure work. Our products page gives the overview, and the main families are listed below.
- Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA): the workhorse paving material for strong, durable surfaces, produced with precise mix control for consistent workability and compaction.
- Superpave mixes: SP-9.5, SP-12.5 and SP-19 gradations paired with performance-graded binders to match traffic and climate.
- Polymer-modified mixes: PG 76-22 for intersections, truck routes and industrial sites where loads and heat are concentrated.
- Base mix: BM-1 for base course work.
- Specialty mixes: open-graded friction course, stone matrix asphalt and porous asphalt for drainage and high-speed applications.
- RAP-blended mixes: HMA with added recycled asphalt pavement for cost-efficient, sustainable paving.
- Tack coat (TAC): for bonding new lifts to the surface below.
Availability is confirmed per project. Check the gradations and binder grades on our specifications page, then call the plant to confirm the exact mix for your job.
Who we supply
Our customers are the crews and agencies that build and maintain pavement across the region:
- Road and highway contractors
- Residential and commercial paving companies
- Developers and site contractors
- Municipalities and county governments
- HOA and private road managers
- Utility contractors and commercial builders
We serve both contractors and private customers depending on tonnage needs.
Quality control at the plant
Every mix is monitored and tested on site so that what leaves the plant matches the specification it was made for. Our in-house program includes sampling and testing during production, monitoring mix temperature and consistency batch to batch, checks against each project's required specification, and documentation to support contractor, developer and municipal requirements.
The Gencor equipment gives us stable temperature control and precise mix accuracy, which is what lets a supplier deliver the same material on the tenth load that it delivered on the first. We produce mixes that meet FDOT specifications depending on project requirements, so tell us the spec on your plans when you call.
How pickup works
Most contractors haul their own mix from our plant. The process is simple:
- Call or text the plant at (772) 494-6077 with your mix, tonnage and the day you need it.
- Confirm your pickup window. Orders are filled first come, first served, and ordering ahead helps us schedule production so your mix is hot and ready.
- Load and weigh. Trucks are loaded and weighed over FDOT Certified scales, so every ticket reflects what your truck is carrying.
- Get back to the job. Fast load times keep your trucks moving and your paver fed.
Plant pickup hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Weekend and after-hours loading is available by request. If you do not run your own trucks, delivery can be arranged through local trucking partners, and we can connect you with haulers.
Built for Florida conditions
Pavement on the Treasure Coast has to handle long stretches of high surface temperatures, heavy summer rain and seasonal traffic spikes. Rutting at intersections and water damage in low spots are the most common pavement failures in this climate. Matching the gradation and binder to the traffic load is the best defense, which is why we offer performance-graded binders, polymer-modified mixes for high-stress areas, and friction course and porous options where water is the main concern.
Get a mix recommended for your job
Not sure which mix fits the work? Tell us the application, the traffic and the layer, and our team will recommend the mix type, grade, tonnage and scheduling. You can send a mix design request through the contact page or call the plant directly. If you are still estimating quantities, our asphalt tonnage calculator converts length, width and thickness into tons.
